Seasonality on Vinted: the calendar to sell at the right time all year round

25 August 2026 · 6 min read

On Vinted, the same coat sells for €8 in June and €22 in October. Seasonality is not a detail: it is one of the simplest margin levers there is — you just have to anticipate. Here is the year of an organised seller.

1. The rule: list 4 to 6 weeks before the need

Buyers plan little but search early: puffer jackets sell from October, swimwear from May. Your ideal listing window is one to one and a half months before the season of use — early enough to catch the first searches, late enough to stay in the fresh results.

2. The year's calendar

  • January-February: ski and chunky knits (winter sales = bargain-hunting buyers). Start sourcing spring.
  • March-April: trench coats, jeans, sneakers, mid-season. Light dresses take off.
  • May-June: swimwear, shorts, summer dresses, linen. Clear winter stock in tightly priced bundles.
  • July: the summer lull — prepare back-to-school (photos, listings) without over-listing.
  • August-September: back to school, your biggest peak: kidswear, sportswear, jeans, light jackets. Everything must be online by the end of August.
  • October-November: coats, puffers, boots, knitwear — prices climb, this is when your best margins happen.
  • December: festive pieces and gift ideas (accessories, premium brands) until the 15th, then the market slows.
The counter-move that pays: buy off-season. Coats are sourced in May (nobody wants them, prices on the floor) and sold in October. You just need the space — and the cash — to carry the stock for a few months.

3. Steering with your own numbers

This calendar is a baseline: your sales history is more precise. Look at last year's monthly statistics per category — which month do your jeans move fastest? when does kidswear explode? Your data beats any market average; you just need it at hand, categorised and up to date.

4. The back-to-school checklist

  • Autumn stock photographed and listed before 1 September.
  • Summer clearance bundles created to free up space and cash.
  • Dormant stock (90+ days) dealt with: relist, price cut or bundle.
  • Last year's statistics reviewed to set sourcing priorities.
