Selling on Vinted and eBay without ever selling the same item twice

An item that has sat on Vinted for three months is not necessarily overpriced. It may simply not be in front of the right buyer. Vinted is a feed people scroll; eBay is a search box where they type a brand, a model, a size. Opening a second channel shows the same item to a different crowd. The risk is well known: a one-off item listed in two places can sell twice.

Which items to send to eBay

• Brands people search by name. A Schott jacket, Levi's jeans, a North Face fleece: the eBay buyer types the brand and finds it.
• Stock that has gone quiet. Three months without a buyer on Vinted is a good moment to change shop window rather than cut the price again.
• Items with real value. Vintage, sportswear, outdoor, designer: that is where a second audience makes the difference.

A bargain-bin T-shirt, on the other hand, has nothing to gain. In our own shop, the first batch sent to eBay was 25 branded items that had been listed for three months: their average price was several times the median price of the stock. You do not duplicate a stock, you choose from it.

The only rule: one stock, not two

Sold anywhere, withdrawn everywhere, within minutes. Cancelling a sale because the item already went elsewhere counts as a seller defect, on eBay as on Vinted. Keeping that rule by hand, with a spreadsheet and two browser tabs, works with ten items. Not with two hundred.

Before you start

You need an eBay account that has already sold once: eBay does not open publishing to tools until the seller account exists, and a single listing created by hand on eBay is enough to create it.
