Selling bundles on Vinted: move your stock without sacrificing your margin

21 July 2026 · 5 min read

Bundles are the most underrated weapon of Vinted sellers: they raise the average basket, move dormant stock and cut your trips to the drop-off point. Provided you do it methodically — otherwise it is your margin that leaves in the parcel.

1. Why bundles work so well

  • Average basket: a buyer taking 3 items pays a single shipping fee — the discount you grant is partly funded by that saving.
  • Rotation: an item that has been sitting for 60 days costs space and attention. In a bundle, it becomes a bonus that helps sell the rest.
  • Logistics: a parcel of 3 items = one package, one label, one trip.

2. Setting the discount without getting it wrong

The bundle discount is set in Vinted (by tiers: 2, 3, 5 items…). Best practice: start from your real unit margin — listed price minus purchase price — and grant a discount that stays below that combined margin. A 10 to 20% discount is the standard that triggers the purchase without looking like a clearance.

Classic trap: the discount applies to the bundle total, but your margin differs on each piece. A bundle with two high-margin items and one borderline item can go negative without you noticing.

3. The real issue: tracking margin per item

When a bundle sells, your accounting must answer a simple question: how much did each garment bring in? The clean method is to split the discount pro rata to each item's listed price, then subtract its purchase price. It is the only way to get honest statistics per category or brand — and to know which pieces to feature in your next bundles.

By hand, that calculation gets tedious from the second bundle onwards. A management tool that detects bundles and automatically allocates the discount and purchase prices per item gives you the true number, no spreadsheet needed.

4. Three bundle formats that work

  • The themed bundle: "3 winter jumpers size M" — consistent, easy to photograph, it attracts the buyer looking for exactly that.
  • The tiered bundle: your discount ladder (−10% from 2 items, −15% from 3) shown on your profile — the buyer builds their own.
  • The clearance bundle: items dormant for 90+ days grouped at a tight price. The goal is no longer unit margin but freeing up cash and space.

5. In short

Sell in bundles, but steer them: discount calibrated on real margin, allocation per item, and dormant-stock tracking to feed your clearance bundles. Managed well, a bundle is not a promotion — it is a sales channel in its own right.
