Quarterly declaration: the Vinted seller's checklist (30 minutes, not an evening)

8 October 2026 · 6 min read

If you sell as a registered business, October is a deadline month: in France, the 3rd-quarter URSSAF declaration (July-August-September) is due at the end of the month — and most countries have their own quarterly or yearly ritual (HMRC self-assessment in the UK works on the tax year). Every quarter, the same question: "which number do I declare, again?". Here's the checklist to close it in 30 minutes instead of an evening digging through your Vinted history.

The number to declare: cash received, not items sold

What counts is the revenue you actually received over the period — what genuinely reached your wallet during the quarter, not what was "sold" in Vinted's sense. A late-September sale paid out in early October belongs to Q4. This is the number-one source of gaps between your declaration and your statements: fix the rule once (payout date) and keep it every quarter.

The 30-minute checklist

  • 1. The quarter's total received, all shops combined if you run several — that's the declaration figure.
  • 2. The month-by-month detail, kept aside: if the tax office asks, that's what justifies the total.
  • 3. Cancelled and refunded sales: they are not declared — check they're out of the total.
  • 4. Sales outside Vinted (market stall, another platform, direct sale): same activity, same declaration — they add up.
  • 5. The trail: note the declared figure and the date. In an audit, consistency between declarations and statements is the only thing you'll be asked for.
The quarterly trap: declaring the sale prices Vinted displays instead of what you received, or forgetting that buyer protection is paid by the buyer — your revenue is what you receive. For anything specific to your situation (VAT thresholds, allowances), the reliable answer comes from your tax authority or an accountant, not a forum.

The real win: reconstructing nothing

The 30 minutes only work if the numbers already exist somewhere. If your quarter lives in the Vinted history of three accounts, reconstruction takes an evening — and repeats identically in three months. That's exactly what Fripilot removes: the quarter's received revenue is computed continuously (Vinted and off-Vinted sales, cancellations deducted, multi-shop consolidated), and the monthly detail exports in one click. On deadline day, the figure is already there. See how Fripilot prepares the declaration — free 30-day trial, no card.
